Bobbie Jean Johnson DuBose



Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010, at an 11:00 AM Service in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Bobbie Jean DuBose, the former Bobbie Jean Johnson, age 71, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Interment will be held at a Graveside Service on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Sibley Cemetery, 2091 Hwy 145 N., Choudrant, Louisiana.

Reverend Gaylord Dodgen, former Pastor of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Lafayette will conduct the funeral services. 

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Thomas Malcom DuBose; her children, Cindy and her husband, Angelo Accardo of Sealy, Texas,  Ted DuBose and his wife, Kim of Mandeville, Louisiana and Betty and her husband, Kevin Dennis of Monkey Island, Oklahoma; her mother, Opal Pounders; one brother, John R. Sutton; her grandchildren, Christy and her husband, Sean McQueen, Tommy DuBose and his fiance', Kellie Fischer, Jamie & her husband, Jared Chamberlain, Rebecca & her husband, Rob Fairburn, David Accardo, Tim Meade, Michael Meade and Olivia DuBose and one great grandchild, Lucy Fairburn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Johnson.

Mrs. DuBose was born in Spencerville, Oklahoma on March 15, 1939 and was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of her life. She was a 1957 graduate of Sulphur High School and also attended McNeese University afterwards. Mrs. DuBose was a faithful member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and was instrumental in starting multiple Bible Study Groups. She was very active in Bible Study Fellowship and Precepts.

The family would like to thank the numerous and amazing women, who cared for Bobbie over the past year from Home Health Care Services and especially Kim Spoon and Charlotte Broussard. Also, special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses, who cared for her as well.

Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's Southside location on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
