Friday found the weather still cold and over cast but the snow on the
surrounding mountains was beautiful. The rest of the gang was going to
drive out to the Eureka Sand Dunes area of the park. These are the tallest
dunes in North America and very impressive. Mary Ann and I decided we
would pass on the trip (we have spent several nights at the dunes in the
past) and see if we could get in a bike ride down to Bad Water.

A unique experience; snow on the sand dunes!
After a few miles we decided it was too cold to ride and
stopped for a picture and then headed home. Along the way
we made our Christmas card picture(actually a composite of
two pictures.)
