Janice Ann Trosclair Sweeney Baton Rouge, LA
|
After graduation in 1957, I attended McNeese for approximately
2 years and then worked for Firestone Tire & Rubber Company
for 3 years. In June of 1961 I married Carleton Sweeney and we
spent 2 years in the U.S. Army. During that time I gave birth to
our first two children, Michael and Suzanne. We lived in
Williamsburg, VA and New Orleans during these 2 years and 3
months.
I worked with various companies, including Humble Oil and we
had our third child, Christopher in 1966. We had our fourth
child in 1971, Craig.
We have 3 grandsons and one on the way. Our oldest
Christopher Keagle is the punter for Louisiana Tech entering
his second year as punter. Cameron will be a freshman at
Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge. The other, Merritt is 18
months old. All during these years I continued to sing in Sweet
Adelines and in the church choir.
In 1986 we bought an employment agency in Baton Rouge and
from 1986 to 2005 we ran the agency together. In 2005 our
youngest son Craig bought us out and we have been retired
since April 1, 2005.
As most of you know I have had some health problems over the
last 10 years. Nine years ago I had my mitral valve replaced and
had many complications. In Jan. 2005 I had my mitral valve
replaced again and they also replaced my aortic valve. They
also at the same time repaired my tricusped valve. Just to
make things better they installed a pacemaker. The operation
was done at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
As I am writing this we are about to leave for a European 'River
Cruse on the Danube and will spend 3 day in Prague.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and love
reading the e-mails from Pie & Joey.
